SPINWRIGHT DROP SHOT WEIGHTS
Get your bait in the strike zone. Keep it there.
Drop shotting is a technique that has taken the bass fishing world by storm, particularly in the United States, where it has become a staple technique for tournament and recreational bass anglers. Originally popularised around the clear, heavily pressured waters of the American West, the technique has evolved into an incredibly versatile way to target fish in both deep and shallow water.
The concept is simple — your soft plastic sits above the weight, allowing you to keep the bait suspended off the bottom while giving it subtle movement and action. This makes it extremely effective when fish are finicky, pressured or feeding close to the bottom.
The Spinwright Drop Shot Weights are specifically designed for this technique, featuring a convenient clip-on design that allows you to quickly attach the weight to your line without having to retie your rig.
Drop shotting is still a relatively new technique for many Australian anglers, but we've already had great success using it in Australian waters. It's an incredibly versatile presentation and one we believe more Australian anglers should have in their arsenal.
Whether you're targeting Bass, Yellowbelly, Redfin or other species, the drop shot gives you the ability to present a small plastic naturally above the bottom and keep it in the strike zone for longer.
Why Drop Shot?
One of the biggest advantages of a drop shot is the ability to keep your plastic off the bottom and at a specific height, allowing you to target fish that are suspended or holding just above structure. It can be fished vertically, cast and retrieved, shaken in place, hopped along the bottom or slowly dragged through the strike zone.
If you're new to drop shotting, we highly recommend checking out some of the many American bass fishing videos online. There's a reason this technique has become such a major part of the American bass fishing scene — it catches fish.
